About me

My name is Jessie and I’m a nutrition coach, business owner, competitive powerlifter and fur-mom. I help people like you gain confidence in their bodies and develop a healthy relationship with food. Starvation diets and cutting out your favorite foods have no place here!

Health and fitness became an important part of my life in 2017 when I embarked on my own journey. At the time, I had pain in my lower back, headaches, low energy, felt as if I had to stuff myself at each meal just to make it to the next one without starving, and started buying clothing to cover up what I didn’t like in the mirror. Throughout my journey I was physically active, first in Crossfit, then olympic weightlifting, and now powerlifting, but physical activity actually had zero effect on my weight initially: I didn’t lose a single pound! It was when I changed my diet that the weight began to come off and I started feeling better: stable energy throughout the day, lasting satisfaction from meals, and no more headaches!

It’s been quite a journey of trial and error and success and failure. Some of the mistakes I made were

  • Undereating
  • Overeating
  • Binge eating
  • Fad/yoyo dieting

Some of the knowledge I gained was:

  • Portion control
  • Managing cravings
  • Mealprep
  • Navigating food choices at restaurants and social gatherings
  • Counting calories & macros and using this to my advantage
  • Customizing my nutrition to support my workouts
All of this experience brings me to where I am today: healthy, loving my body, and equipped with the knowledge and habits to fuel my daily life and passions. I started New Horizon Coaching with a passion to pass on what I’ve learned to others in the form of one-on-one nutrition coaching and seminars.
